something to make it easier to distinguish incoming attacks from outgoing attacks.
the system now just says "has attacked" or "has been attacked", which can be very easily confused, mistaken, misread.
suggestions:
simple suggestion: change the wording. "has attacked", "defended against"
advanced suggestion: put an icon beside each line. different icons for attack, defence, and portals.

then you create a problem for colorblind people... i'd choose for a change in text
