Since there is talk about implementing new races into dolumar perhaps its also time to implement a new theme.
team warfare
this could be achieved as race vs race or race group vs race group.
if race vs race then each race would start in a different quadrant and only be able to attack members of opposing races.
if race group vs race group, IE good races vs evil races, same applies, good races can only attack evil races etc. each race group would have to start out in same hemisphere, either north and south, or east and west
current , proposed and new races
human- this would be base race, no pluses, no minus on stats or build times
elven - could be + 10% attack - 5%hp + 10% build/travel
dwarven- could be+attack 5% + 15% hp +20% build/travel times
halfling+ could be + 10% defense due to size perhaps -10%hp -20% build/travel
dark elven+ 5% attack -5% build/travel
orc+10%attack - 10% build/travel
troll+ 5% attack, +5% HP -10% build/travel
ogre +5%attack +15% hp -20% build/travel
just arbitrary numbers here..
as well, you could also make each race be better or worse at something, IE mining, food gathering et all. as long as it balances out where a player has equal chance regardless of race choice, the pluses and the minuses etc
would probably have to implement option of clan war, for a same race clan to attack other same race clan for as we well know, not everyone gets along. this could be done by mutual agreement or by perhaps a poll option, say if majority of clan A wants to attack clan B of same race, they vote, if % met, the two clans are attackable for x number of days, no vacation mode permited, perhaps 2 days? this would keep the theme of team work in tact since there would be possible player driven penalty for playing against your team.
honor system. attacker gets penalty based on size, but defender should get bonus as well
so...if attacker loses 50 honor on attack, thats 50% atk, hp etc, defender should gain that much as well for battle, would make it alot harder to attack lower people i would think
some kind of slow moving siege equipment should be implemented as well, perhaps something so slow it would rarely be used as offense, but would help on defense and require new building type such as siege factory etc. could make travel time 3x of infantry, high atk, high hp, but large res requirment and long build requirement. perhaps ballistas and do upgrade to catapults or onagers
